Wedding Day Prep Guide + Tips!

Cheers, it’s almost your wedding day!

Can you believe the day is practically here? We truly hope you are so excited to be marrying your best friend and to celebrate this new chapter in your life! Take a look at some of our tips below to make sure you have a smooth and easy-going morning!

Night before wedding tips:

  • Wash your hair the night before and use a mousse to prep your hair before blow drying. The mousse will help your stylist the next day to add volume and will help maintain curls for a longer period of time! If you can -get a blowout before the wedding day -this can help with frizz and long lasting curls as well (plus you’ll have your hair done for the reception, win-win!!!

  • Use a sheet mask to add in extra hydration to the skin before the big day! This will create a glowy and hydrated skin before makeup! In addition to the sheet mask, consider using under eye mask and a lip mask as well!!

Wedding day tips:

  • Please have all bridesmaids or at the very least the first two on the schedule available at the designated start time. It’s important that each person is aware of their appointment time slot so that we do not run behind. Piggy backing off of this - have everyone ready at minimum 15 minutes before their appointed time!

  • For makeup: everyone should arrive with a "clean-face"-no makeup. Moisturizer is fine.

  • For hair: everyone should have 100% completely dry and clean hair.

  • Please ensure there is an open and clean space for the artist(s) to setup. Things we will need are chairs (regular chairs for hair, bartop or counter height chairs for makeup), full-length mirrors, and near adequate/natural light (like a window) is best.

  • Encourage your bridesmaids to have a sample photo of how they would like their hair and makeup done (or how you would like their makeup done). This ensures the artist will have a clear vision of what to do.

  • It is very helpful to wear a button-down shirt or a robe during the service. You definitely do not want the fuss of pulling a shirt over picture-perfect hair and makeup!

Safe Working Conditions + Environment Guidelines:

  1. Food and drinks cannot share the same table, station, space (you get the idea) as where the artists’ are setting up.

  2. Masks will be optional for both clients and artists.

If any of the artists feel uncomfortable or unsafe because these guidelines are not met, they have a right to not provide services. Please refer to our contract clause “APPROPRIATE CONDUCT/SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT.” I encourage you to make sure that your getting-ready area meets our guidelines to prevent any issues on the wedding day.

We genuinely appreciate you, your friends, and your family following these above guidelines. During these times, I understand that there are many inconveniences with trying to plan things out. All of us here at LHNBEAUTY want to continue working to serve as many people as we can, on one of the most special days of someone’s life. These guidelines are set so we are able to personally feel safe, comfortable to go home to our loved ones, and to continue working!

Additional Tips:

  • Waxing can cause redness, bumps, and peeling. It is suggested that waxing services are done 3-5 days prior to the wedding date

  • Spray tanning usually looks most natural 2 days after it has been applied. Please consider this when scheduling any tanning services before your wedding.

  • Consider also getting a dermaplaning facial the week before your wedding. Dermaplaning helps exfoliate the top layer of your skin (also gets rid of the peach fuzz sitting on your face). This will help makeup lay smoothly on your face for the wedding! This is certainly a service I provide so let me (Lisa) know if you would like to get this done!

As always, let us know if you have any questions. The most important tip we can give is to

have fun!
