5 Things to Add to your Pre-Wedding Beauty Routine

So here it is, your beauty routine before your wedding! Picture this, it’s the wedding month is here and you are so excited! You spent months planning and now you’re just coasting along until the big day (besides finalizing some minor details, but no big deal)! You are sitting on the couch watching the latest episode of the Bachelor, and you notice that your lips are incredibly dry. You go run off to the bathroom to put on some Burts Bee’s and notice your skin is looking not the greatest -here comes the mental freakout. It’s the month of your wedding!! You’re not looking the glowy-est, your hair looks fried, and your lips are drier than the Sahara desert.

First off, take a nice deep breath - now breathe it out.

It’s OK. There are tons of things you can do (yes, even the month of your wedding), that will help you be wedding day ready! Read on to find out what those are!

one month Pre-Wedding beauty routine

1. Get your skincare routine down! It’s amazing what consistency can do for your skin. You should be consistently using your cleanser, serum, and moisturizer day (+ sunscreen!) and night! Keep in mind that this is not the time you should try to be adventurous with your products, stick with the products you know that agrees with your skin type.

But Lisa, what if I don’t have any skincare products? My inner esthetician is crying, but no worries. I got you! Head to your local Target and grab a cleanser - either CeraVe or Cetaphil will work great. Next up, pick out a brightening serum - Pacifica makes a great option or you can check out Pixie! Everyone needs a moisturizer. If you are oily pick out something that is more matte, if you’re normal to dry, pick out something that has the word ‘daily’ on it. This will be light but still hydrating enough for everyday use. Again, Pacifica makes a great mattyifying lotion and daily moisturizer!

2. Go trim your ends. I know, you’ve been growing out your hair forever to have this beautiful long boho braid for the wedding day, but trust me, you’ll want to get a trim. Make it clear to your stylist that you would like keep your length. Trimming off the dead ends will allow your hair to have beautiful, healthy looking ends and help with flyaways!

3. Sometimes all we need is a simple spray tan to feel alive. Spray tans add a beautiful glow and helps even out skin tones. If you are planning to get a spray tan, do it the week of the wedding, but not the day before. Allow about 2-3 days for the spray to settle for the most perfect sun-kissed look.

4. This one is my favorite service to get, it gives you an instant glow and it allows makeup to sit on your face so perfectly. What is it you ask? Dermaplaning! Dermaplaning is a service where a licensed advanced esthetician will take a scalpel (don’t be afraid!) And essentially will exfoliate the top layer of your skin. The bonus is that it will also take all that peach fuzz off of your face. Makeup sits perfectly after this service. And no, your peach fuzz won’t go back darker or more coarse. I promise!

5. Do a deep hair conditioning mask! Trust me, you’ll appreciate how silky smooth your hair will look, it will also help with fly aways (just like trimming your hair)! If you have the budget for it, go get it at the salon. Getting a deep hydration mask from a salon has higher ingredient percentages so it will be able to penetrate deeper into your hair strand and last much longer -not to mention you get to pamper yourself to an amazing scalp massage! If you don’t have the budget for a in salon treatment, then I would recommend getting the Wella Fusionplex Mask! It is an incredible mask that will leave your hair feeling amazing for up to a week!

So there it is, your beauty routine for your wedding to help your skin and hair feel more alive! These small things are so easily missed, but trust me -it can do a world’s difference for the big day!
